PROYECTO DB 1990

Posts Recomendados

Publicado

I prefer to use english.

i received an update to this forum because I subscribed it many years ago while I was building a very large update for FM2008. I builded it using help from many guys in the world covering much more leagues than your idea. In this db you can find spanish league, of course. Between 2009 and 2010 almost 10.000 FM fans downloaded it from everywhere, from USA, from Thailand, China and many others.

Many years passed by that time but I didn't delete that job, so you can download it from new links. You can download facepack too, thousands and thousands of faces. There are also many excel file explaining how I rebuilded the strength of any nation and the teams inside any nation.

You can download from following link

Ciao @brunino!

That's simply amazing!! When I was looking for a 90s DB, I reached the one you created... but the links for downloading it were in MU's site, and, therefore, forever lost.

This is a present I don't know how to thank you for giving me the chance to play with the same squads teams used to have when I was a child. Grazie mille, @brunino!!

I was checking out the Spanish Primera División League, and I found out some fails, like players in mistaken positions: for instance, Loren Juarros was a defender (right), I can't tell if he was a deffensive midfielder (it could be), but... he also played as a striker!! He's not assigned that position.

Also, the chosen players for earning international caps are funny. Most of then never were in the Spanish National Team...

I'd like to use this DB to widen and improve it, if you agree.

The only serious doubt I have is the following one: which criteria did you employed to lay the points for technical and personal attributes down??

Publicado

Ciao ReySol,

I know that could be mistakes, it was very hard to build a so large number of leagues; for someone I had test by local fans, from Russia, England, Czech Republic, Poland and Brazil, but no tests from other countries, included Spain. Do the changes you want and you need, it's free.

About the criteria for technical datas, I have to explain something before.

When I was younger, I was beta tester for SI for Football Manager, also when he was called "Championship Manager", at the end of '90 years of last century. I really know well how the FM engine works. At the beginning of any game, it calculates and builds a lot of local variables to fix a value; any start, different values for the same variables.

1. It was impossibile to me to know the technical attributes of so many players, expecially unknown players like in the lower anonymous polish teams, for example. So I decide to concentrate only over some aspects of the reality, only the aspects I could control directly. If you look inside the excel files, you can notice that I rebuilded an history of five years across 1992 for rebuilding the strenght of any team, its economical power, its actual charisma, and the strength and richness of any league and any team.

Using math, I decided how many strong players could have any team in its historical period and in the level of power of its own league.

2. For the players ... opening a DB you surely noticed tha any player has an "Actual ability" (AA) and a "Potential ability (PA). The first one is the global actual strength of the player at the beginning of the season, the second one is the global maximum value he can reach during the game, passing years. This global value is an algorhitm which includes the sum of any single technical attribute. The lower level is 1, the higher could be 200. In FM engine 0 means a casuality. There are some special value more; -10 means a value between 180 and 200, -9 means a value between 160 and 180, and so on. If you use a special value, the exact and fixed number will be builded at the beginning of any game. I edited or deleted all the players in the whole db with a PA >140 or >-8. You will not find original players with an higher value, I used filters for discovering them even if playing in Turkey or somewhere else.

3. For the reason explained in point 1, I used a db in which all my new players have 0 in any technical attribute. What does it mean? This means that when you start a new game, FM engine will filled up any attribute according to the AA of any player, according the algorithm which links attributes to global AA, and the attribute could have a value between 1 and 20. During the game, the attributes could increase to reach the global PA if you have good trainers, no injuries and so on. If you use a virtual PA like -9, FM engine will fix a value between 160 and 180 but you don't know which one before.

Now I want to speak about potential ability PA, expecially important for young players, and what happens to them any time you start a new game. in 1992 there were many young players become famous in 2000; Zidane had 17 years, Del Piero 16, Raul 16, Totti 15, and so on. For any of them I used a PA = -10. If you remember that anyone has a 0 value for each attribute, a variable value defined by FM engine, this means that in a game you could have Raul with a PA 200, very slow in run (10) but very strong in jump (20), in another game you could have Raul with a PA = 180, very fast (20) but not a good jumper (10). It's only casuality, because it was not possible to define manually all the attributes for thousands of unknown players. In any new game you will discover the same player with different attributes than in other game. More over, in this way there are no further discussions. The release I uploded is the 1.62, at the beginning the release 1.0 had the attributes defined by myself, I had so many critics (that player is faster, is not so fast, was not so aggressive, was more aggressive ...) that I decided to leave to casuality. We have not to forget that is a game, is not reality.

Modify what you need and want to do, and if you need more explainations, ask. I will follow this thread

Ciao, @brunino!

I'm testing your DB and have a question: where is supposed to be placed the folder with the faces??

Grazie mille!

I think you should have a folder named "graphics\pictures\players" in the root of the game. Here at home I have FM2017 from Steam and path is different. Tomorrow I will look on another PC on which I have installed my DB ina a game and I will send you the right path.

Yes, the path is ...Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\pictures\players

Thank you @brunino! But I dunno why, it doesn't work... How do you identify pictures? I named them following the ID Number assigned to each person, is that right?
